Eight arrested in hotel manager abduction case

Sawai Madhopur: Eight miscreants have been arrested by Sawai Madhopur Police for allegedly abducting and seeking ransom from the manager of Junagarh Mahal. Police informed that hotel manager Abhijit Banerjee was abducted near Sherpur Helipad on February 12 by the eight accused. “Abhijit was kidnapped and then beaten in his car by the miscreants. After getting the ransom amount, the accused fled and the victim was rescued on February 13. The accused, identified as Vishal Soni (30), Bhajan Meena (22) and Bunty Meena (22) and five other miscreants have been arrested and are being interrogated,” police said. “Police teams were formed and an operation ‘Silent Roundup’ was undertaken to nab the accused. Based on surveillance and technical inputs, the accused were held. Cases of robbery, loot, causing hurt and illegal arms are registered in various police stations against the accused,’ police added.
