Dr Kirodi Meena meets accused in Tonk slapgate row
Tonk: Agriculture Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena met 52 accused including the independent candidate Naresh Meena who were involved in the slapgate incident in the Tonk jail on Wednesday. Dr Kirodi said that assault should not have taken place during the voting at the polling booth during the bypolls in Samravata village. He said that action taken by the police in the night was also wrong. He said that if the villagers want then he would also get the judicial investigation done in this case.
MoS for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham was also with Dr Kirodi, but he did not go into the jail to meet the accused. Both went to Samravata to talk to the villagers. Dr Kirodi addressing villagers said, “I have met everyone in jail and they are not facing any difficulties.”
Bedham said that the problem created by Congress is being addressed by this govt. He assured that a detailed investigation into the incident will be carried out. He further mentioned, “The villagers have stated that they will not fall into these traps. They are satisfied with what the CM and the govt have done.”
