Ajmer: In a big relief to suspended BJP councillor Virendra Walia, the DLB refused to sanction prosecution in the corruption case. The DLB did not find the case worthy of prosecution. Government Secretary Kailash Chand Meena issued the order in this regard.
In February, the ACB had trapped him while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. ACB sleuths said that councillor of Ward No 79 of Ajmer Municipal Corporation, Walia and broker, Roshan, allegedly demanded bribes from complainant for not acting on construction of his plot. The complainant stated that Walia and Roshan threatened that his house was illegal and would be razed. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to allow the complainant to continue the construction.
