Dist Excise Officer in ACB net; Rs 1.70 L bribery scandal in Dausa exposed

Dausa: District Excise Officer Kailash Prajapati was apprehended by the (ACB) on Saturday for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.70 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, the ACB conducted a sting operation at a Raymonds showroom in Sanganer, where Prajapati allegedly received the bribe from liquor contractors. The operation was led by ACB DG Dr. Raviprakash Meharda and Sunil Sihag.

This bribery scandal has caused significant upheaval within the Dausa Excise Dept, uncovering long-standing corruption practices. Reports indicate that bribery has been a persistent issue within the department, with contractors frequently paying for various services.

One consequence of this corruption is that liquor shops at the district headquarters remain open after 8:00 pm, despite regulations.
