Demur over ‘Abu & Ammi’ in text book

Kota: A private English medium school in Kota has stirred up a controversy after a book, used to teach class second children, was reported to have many Urdu language words and names. Activists of Bajrang Dal had filed a complaint in education department stating that such education is promoting Muslim ideology in students.

In one of the chapters of the book, a question has been asked on how you call your parents at home. The answer mentioned is ‘Ammi and Abbu’. Bajrang Dal activists claim that parents are complaining that kids are speaking words like Ammi and Abbu at home, to which the Bajrang Dal wants to ban the book. Meanwhile, authorities of Shivjyoti Public School of Kota, where the book is being taught, claimed to have removed the controversial book from the syllabus.
