DEATH TOLL RISES TO 23 AS 5 MORE INCLUDING GROOM’S FATHER DIE

Jodhpur: Five more people died on Tuesday in the cylinder blast that happened five days ago. The groom’s father and his nephew succumbed to the injuries. So far, 10 children have also lost their lives in the horrific accident. The condition of 8 more accident victims admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur is critical. Earlier on Monday, 6 people including the groom’s mother had died during treatment. In such a situation, the death toll has increased to 23. Those who died had more than 50% burns. The groom’s father Sagat Singh, Dilip Kumar, Sugan Kanwar, Aidan Singh died during treatment. The villagers appealed to the State Govt and Union Min Gajendra S Shekhawat to refer the injured admitted in MGH Hospital to Delhi or a higher level hospital for proper treatment so that the lives of the remaining injured could be saved. Collector Himanshu Gupta also visited the hospital after getting information about the deaths on Tuesday. A counseling room has been set up here for the relatives of the patients. Of the 54 admitted, 23 people have died and 31 injured are hospitalised.
