DEATH TOLL INCREASES TO 12, MASS CREMATIONS HELD

Jodhpur: The number of deaths in the gas cylinder blast that took place on December 8 at Bhungra in Shergarh, Jodhpur, increased to 12 on Saturday. Among the dead are 1 woman and 2 children. Those who died on Saturday include Sua Kanwar (60), Poonam (11), Sajjan Kanwar (10) and Surendra Singh (30). In this accident, Sua Kanwar suffered 60 to 70% burns, Sajjan Kanwar 80 to 90% and Poonam 80 to 90%. The maximum number of deaths so far are of children. Of the total dead, 7 are children. On the other hand, the last rites took place throughout the day in the village. The souls of relatives and villagers who were performing the last rites were shaken by pyres burnt together. On instructions of the CM, a team of doctors was sent from Jaipur to Jodhpur for better treatment. On Friday, as soon as dead bodies children reached the courtyard of deserted house, tears welled up in everyone’s eyes.
