Dalit man murder case: Protest on as family refuses to take body
Barmer: The deadlock did not end on the second day as the family members refused to accept the body till their demands are not met.
A 40-year-old Kojaram Meghwal, a resident of Aasadi village in Barmer was beaten to death by a group of 7 to 8 men on Wednesday when he was going to graze his cattle along with his daughters.
As the news spread, people of dalit community gathered outside the mortuary, where the deceased body was kept, and launched a dharna.
Indraram (son of deceased) lodged a case & alleged that there are around 16 accused including a woman.Meanwhile, on Thursday, protestors gave a memorandum to the Barmer district collector and superintendent of police & demanded immediate arrest of the accused, compensation of `1 crore & a government job for the 2 family members of the deceased.
