Jodhpur: The Marwar Gau Seva Samman Samaroh, held at Amargarh Fort in Jodhpur on Saturday, was a prominent event focused on Gau Seva, Gau Raksha, Gau Sanrakshan, Gau Samvardhan, and addressing encroachment on Gauchar Bhumi (grazing grounds).

The Chief Guest of the event was Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, which was attended by several prominent figures, including Rajasthan Ministers Gajendra Singh Khinwsar, Joraram Kumawat, Jogaram Patel, KK Vishnoi, MLA Atul Bhansali, Mahamandaleshwar Gyaneshwar, Kapil Agrawal, and Ramprasad Maharaj. Jodhpur Collector Gaurav Agarwal, Divisional Commissioner Pratibha Singh, and notable industrialists like Kamal Mehta, along with chairman of the dairy federation and local residents, were also present.

During his inaugural address, Pawan Arora, CEO and Managing Editor of First India News, passionately highlighted the cultural and spiritual importance of cows, drawing from the Atharvaveda and Bhagavad Gita to portray them as symbols of prosperity and emphasizing Krishna’s revered role in Gau Seva.

Chief Guest Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized the deep cultural significance of cows in Indian society, noting that communities have long safeguarded cows, grazing lands, ponds (talabs), and oran lands through collective efforts, even before legal structures existed. He also said about the gradual decline of Indian traditions under influence of Western culture.
