Constable Prahlad laid to rest with State honours amid tears

Neem Ka Thana: District Special Team (DST) constable Prahlad Singh was cremated with state honours in Sikar’s Cheeplata village on Saturday. His five-year-old son, Chirag, performed the last rites.

On Saturday, along with the Tiranga Yatra, his body was brought home. Around 500 villagers participated in the yatra.

On Friday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased. Also, one member of the family would be given an appointment on compassionate grounds.

The villagers have demanded martyr status for constable Prahlad Singh and said they would block the Thoi road (Sikar-Neem ka Thana) if this is not heard.
