Congress party calls for law guaranteeing MSP for crops

Udaipur: Former Haryana CM and Congress’ Agriculture Committee convener for the Nav Sankalp Shivir Bhupendra Singh Hooda surrounded central govt regarding loan waiver amid Congress’s Chintan Shivir (Nav Sankalp Shivir) in Udaipur. On second day, the group on Agri has given many suggestions like making a law on MSP and setting up commission on farmer loan waiver.

He said that the NDA government had promised to double the income of farmers by 2022, but did not fulfill it, rather the debt on farmers has doubled. Agriculture Committee member and Chhattisgarh Minister TS Singh Deo said that Kisan Nyay Yojana has been started in Chhattisgarh which should be implemented in the country.

Pratap Singh Bajwa said that subsidy of farmers should be increased. Centre in collusion with companies, has given benefits to companies instead of farmers in crop insurance. Now new Electricity Act is coming, it is anti-farmer, he said.
