Congress misled people on ERCP and politicised it for votes: CM

Dholpur/Karauli: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday attacked the Opposition Congress party saying that it has always worked to misguide on the issue of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) and politicised it for garnering votes.

The Chief Minister also cornered the Congress party on dynasty politics and said that “Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is concerned for the future of her son (Rahul Gandhi) and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is concerned for his son.”

Addressing an ‘Aabhar Sabha’ in support of ERCP in Dholpur, Sharma said that the Rs 45,000 crore Revised Parvati-KalisindhChambal Project (Integrated ERCP) will prove to be a lifeline for the Eastern Rajasthan.

“This will solve the age-old problem of irrigation and drinking water in this area and due to abundant irrigation in the fields, this land will also be prosperous,” he said.

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project project will prove to be the lifeline of Eastern Rajasthan and will change the fate and picture of this region. He said that the Central Government has included the Revised Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project (Integrated ERCP) among the top 5 link projects, due to which work on this scheme will be done at a fast pace.
