CM: Urban, Rural Olympic Games create sports culture in State

Jodhpur: CM Ashok Gehlot observed the district level competitions of Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games at Ummaid Stadium in Jodhpur on Sunday. After this, he also participated in the inauguration program of the renovated Jai Narayan Vyas Smriti Bhawan.

CM recalled former CM Jai Narayan Vyas saying that he had a great contribution in the freedom movement and today’s generation needs to know about such great men.

“When the foundation stone of this Town Hall was laid for the first time in 1964, Congress President K.K. Kamaraj had come and I remember I was a small child and myself also participated in it. Today it is a matter of good fortune that I am renovating it and inaugurating it,” he said.

Taking a dig at the administrative arrangements in this program, the CM said even yet AC has not been installed and people have to sit in the heat.

The CM said that he is not able to meet public at the Circuit House after he got injured in both his legs. Encouraging the players, Gehlot said that the ability to take decisions comes from playing, that is why the govt is conducting these Olympics. “Talents are getting golden opportunities from these Olympic Games. Due to this, our players will be seen winning medals at international level in future,” he said. RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot said. “CM has left no stone unturned to promote sports. That’s why we are getting RPL done,” he said. Parinati Vishnoi gave a yoga presentation in CM’s presence. Gehlot met players & discussed games.
