CM Gehlot reiterates ‘Mission 156’, says Cong will continue

Bharatpur/Ajmer: CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday expressed confidence that the Congress will be back to power in the state in the year-end assembly elections, calling it “Mission 156” — a reference to the number of seats it hopes to win in the 200-member assembly. Gehlot was addressing the divisional level Congress workers’ conference in Bharatpur.

Expressing confidence that the voters would once again bring the Congress to power, he said, “I have not imposed any tax during this tenure so far and the government is giving relief to the people in the era of inflation, the benefit of which is not being received by everyone.”

State in-charge SS Randhawa said that they all have to unite and fight against BJP as they want to divide the country. “They are engaged in dividing castes. We have to bring back spirit of 1947,” he said.

PCC President Govind Singh Dotasra said that the government has appointed maximum number of ministers from Bharatpur, as Congress has won all the seats except one.

Cabinet Minister Vishvendra Singh, Min Bhajan Lal Jatav, Min Ramesh Meena, Minister Zahida Khan, Minister Subhash Garg, MLA Joginder Singh Awana, Bayana MLA Amar Singh were also present.

Meanwhile addressing similar conference at Jawahar School in Ajmer amid rain, CM Gehlot said that Rahul Gandhi was thrown out of Parliament and it has tremendous reaction. “Despite the rain, people have raised their chairs and are standing in the conference. No one knows in which direction the country is going. Democracy is in danger,” he said.
