‘Churu would receive Yamuna water’
Bikaner: At a news conference, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary announced that Churu would receive Yamuna water and that an agreement had been made for 1500 MCM of water. He declared that delaying the canal closure was not an election-related decision and blamed the previous government for the delay in Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).
Additionally, he praised Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Union Jal Shakti Minister. He clarified that the canal is not being blocked at this time because farmers in western Rajasthan have difficulties as a result of its closure. Rajasthan remained at number 33 due to a division in JJM caused by the previous government. Siddhi Kumari, MLA Tarachand Saraswat, was also present. There won’t be a drinking water crisis in Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Anupgarh, or Churu, Nagaur , Jaisalmer , Jodhpur this time as a result of the Indira Gandhi Canal remaining open.
