Chambal tragedy: 2 more dead bodies recovered, 3 missing

Karauli: Dead bodies of two more persons were recovered from Chambal River in Karauli district on Sunday in the drowning incident wherein a group was swept away by a strong water current while crossing the Chambal River on foot on Saturday.

Police informed that dead bodies of Rashmi and Rukmani were fished out from Chambal River after an intense search operation. “Dead bodies of Alopa Devi have also been recovered while Braj Mohan and Luv and Kush are still missing,” police said. Notably, a group of 17 people, consisting of two families from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, were going to the Kaila Devi fair and were swept away while crossing the Chambal River on Saturday
