CBI gets State Govt’s nod to probe SBI coin fraud case

Dausa: The State government on Thursday gave the permission for a CBI inquiry in a year-old coin fraud case concerning the State Bank of India. Coins worth Rs 11 crore were embezzled in Mehandipur Balaji branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) in 2021 in Dausa district.

The High Court had ordered for CBI inquiry while hearing the writ of SBI on April 18 but the investigation was stuck in lack of the approval of the state government.

Now the State Home Department has given consent for the CBI investigation into the embezzlement of coins. The Home Department has approved the investigation against the then assistant manager Arjun Lal Meena and broker Dharmendra Gyanani alias Deepak.

40 people involved in the already registered FIR will also come under the scanner of the investigating agency.
