Brazilian General witnesses firepower of Indian Army

Jaisalmer: The Indian Army demonstrated its firepower by conducting maneuvers in the border district of Jaisalmer. The exercise named Desert Strike, conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran Field Firing Range, was witnessed by Brazilian Army Commander Tomas Miguel Mine Ribeiro Paiva. Commander Paiva is on a five-day visit from August 28. On reaching the war practice site, he was welcomed by Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, General Officer Commanding of the Desert Corps.

Major General Yogendra Singh, GOC of Battle Axe Division and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Gen Paiva witnessed a fire power demonstration in which Indigenous weapon systems showcased their strength. The visiting dignitary showed keen interest in the ‘Made In India’ platforms as part of ‘Aatmanirbharta’.

The weapon systems executed operational manoeuvres in a combined arms firing exercise involving armour, mechanised infantry, artillery, army air defence and aviation assets at Pokhran Field Firing Range.
