Brahmin leaders bat for reservation

Dausa: Vipra Mahakumbh took place on Sunday at Mehandipur Balaji in Dausa, where Brahmin leaders of Congress and BJP shared the stage. Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari said that he had nothing to do with the Special Backward Class (SBC) but wanted reservation. He said that the state government has no right to acquire temples.

“The priests are not only Brahmins but are Gurjars and Rajputs as well,” he said.
Tiwari said that if there can be a separate Waqf Board, then a Hindu Religious Act should also be made. He said that the government has given reservation to all sections of society. He said that they are not financially strong, so reservation on an economic basis was necessary. Brahmin society showed its political power in Vipra Kumbh in Mehandipur Balaji. About 5 to 7 thousand Vipra brothers participated in the program. Politicians and dignitaries belonging to Brahmin society of all major parties were present.
