Bkn Camel Fest begins, tourists enjoy Heritage Walk on 1st day

Bikaner: Domestic and foreign tourists enjoyed the three-day Camel Festival that started in Bikaner on Friday along with the Heritage Walk being conducted here. The celebration started from Rampuria Haveli. Decorated camels, robes and women dressed in traditional colourful costumes and folk artistes participated in the Heritage Walk.

During the walk, locals danced enthusiastically along with the folk artistes, while foreign tourists danced with the Kalbelias.

Tourists were overwhelmed to see the intricate carvings of the havelis on the heritage route. They could be seen clicking pictures all along. Local artistes presented folk songs along with songs sung during Rammats and dances. During the walk, city people warmly welcomed the guests by showering flowers. Many places were seen decorated with rangolis.

Rangoli, mehndi and drawing competitions were organised for the participants by the Tourism Department at Bikaji’s Tekri. The winners were rewarded with mementos.
