BJP remembers Hindus only during polls: Gehlot in Udaipur

Udaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Wednesday that such is the time that noone would ever let the post of the sarpanch go through their hands, let alone the position of MLA-MPs. “But at such a time, Rahul Gandhi did not become PM, even when former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh urged him to come to the mantle, due to old age. Rahul’s mother Sonia Gandhi also did not yearn for this post, while all the leaders wanted to make her PM,” Gehlot was addressing the divisional level conference of Congress at Gandhi Ground in Udaipur on Wednesday.

The conference is being considered as begul for the preparation before the assembly elections to be held this year. Gehlot further said, “ministers had resigned as soon as allegations were levelled against them in the Congress rule. Be it our Railway Minister, Law Minister, their resignations were taken. Leave aside the talk of resignation on being accused in BJP, they are raiding our houses. They didn’t leave even me. BJP people came to rule by talking about Hindus. Are we not Hindus? Why do they remember them elections? Why don’t they talk about tribal, backward and untouchables. I am the only MLA of my caste in the assembly. Became CM three times, because I am getting love of 36 community.”

Targeting the RSS and the BJP, Gehlot questioned whether they have even got a cut on their finger in the fight for freedom. “What wrong did Rahul ji ask Modi ji? He only asked about PM’s relationship with Adani ji called? For what should Rahul apologise? What did he say wrong? Why wouldn’t Modi ji reply?,” Gehlot questioned.
