BJP-Cong lock horns over Fasal Bima Yojna payment in Barmer

Barmer: Leaders of BJP and Congress have locked horns over the Fasal Bima Yojna (crop Insurance) in Barmer. BJP MP from Barmer and union MoS for agricultural and farmer welfare Kailash Choudhary on Sunday lashed out at the Congress govt alleging that the state govt had betrayed the farmers and instead of taking responsibilities, they are running away. While giving a counter, Baytu MLA Harish Chaudhary said that it is unfortunate that instead benefitting the farmers of his own constituency, the union minister is doing pity politics as this is is entirely subject of the union govt. Notably, Agricultural Insurance Company had released the insurance claim of Kharif 2021, wherein many farmers received mere 2, 3 or 5 paisa but hte comapny have made claims about settling Rs 311 crore for farmers. Not only had this, instead of giving timely compensation to the farmers, the company had many times appealed before the state and union government but after all the platforms rejected the company’s plea, it had recently released the compensation, which has triggered the tussle between the political parties. Kailash Chaudhary said that the state government had not done the proper loss assessment which deprived the farmers of fair compensation for their losses.
