Birla’s efforts pay dividend: FCI, Rajfed officials expedite work
Kota: On the directives issued by the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the officials of FCI and Rajfed have expedited the process of procurement of wheat on MSP in Kota and Bundi districts.
New centers will be opened for procurement in the days to come which will enhance the capacity of purchase.
Birla had held a meeting of officials last Tuesday after complaints of mismanagement in the procurement process.
After the meeting, district collectors of Kota and Bundi asked the officials to improve the situation and expedite the process of procurement.
The LS Speaker had directed the officials to abolish the capping of 120 quintal for the wheat procurement and all the wheat brought by the farmers should be procured.
Meanwhile, on direction by UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal, district collector Ujjawal Rathore ordered Girdawari in the villages.
The collector said that as per the primary assessment, crops in Sangod, Kanwas, Mandana, Kaithun, Tathed and other villages have been damaged. He said that Patwaris have been directed to conduct surveys.
