Birla inaugurates slipper distribution campaign

Kota: The slipper distribution campaign, an initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, started in the city once again from Thursday for the workers, labourers, the needy and deprived sections of the society. Birla and Kota Nagarik Sahakari Bank chairman Rajesh Birla relaunched campaign by presenting slippers to children and women in workers’ settlement near Ganesh temple.

Seeing a family going barefoot on the road in a scorching summer about a decade ago, Birla provided slippers to them immediately.

Inaugurating the campaign, Birla said that he was happy to see the campaign continuing at full speed even after a decade and thanked the social workers, intellectuals and the public for participating in it. He also advised people to keep a few pairs of slippers and shoes with them and give them wherever they see a needy person.
