In Barmer, 1.21 lakh families have been provided 100 days job: Collector

Barmer: The Barmer district stood at second position in the country in implementing the job guarantee scheme. Odisha’s Ganjam district stood at first position. In Barmer 1.21 lakhs families have been provided a 100 days job under Mahatma Gandhi employee guarantee scheme. Nagaur district has been at number three in the country in providing 100 days employment to 1.14 lakh families.

Lok Bandhu Yadav, district collector and district programme coordinator at MGNREGA in Barmer said that during the financial year 2021-22, a total of 3.75 crores man-days were created in Barmer by providing employment to the 4.98 lakh families under MNREGA scheme.

He further informed that 1.21 lakhs families in Barmer have completed 100 days, which is the highest in the state. Besides this, Barmer is also topped in average wage rate.

Yadav said that the average wage rate during 2021-22 in Barmer has been Rs 211 per day, highest in the state. Mohandan Ratnu, additional district programme coordinator and chief executive officer at Zila Parishad in Barmer said that during the year 2021-22 a total of 44, 152 new works were approved in Barmer.
