Alwar court sentences 4 accused to 7 years in jail and acquits 1
Alwar: Alwar ADJ court while giving verdict in the Rakbar Khan lynching case on Thursday convicted 4 accused and sentenced them to 7 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on them. The 5th accused, however, was acquitted on account of benefit of doubt.
In the case, Special Public Prosecutor Ashok Kumar Sharma said that on July 20, 2018, Rakbar alias Akbar, a resident of Kolgaon in Haryana, and his accomplice Aslam were taking a cow from Lalawandi village in Ramgarh at night. Suspecting the cow being smuggled, some people surrounded them and started beating them up. Aslam escaped while Rakbar was handed over to the police.
