After NTCA, Green Ministry approval, bear translocated to Sariska Tiger Reserve

Alwar: After receiving approvals from NTCA and Ministry of Forest and Environment, an adult female bear was translocated to the forest area of Sariska Tiger Reserve from Abu Parbat area of the tiger reserve.

A team comprising Deputy Conservator of Forests Arun Kumar D, Assistant Conservator of Forests Pankaj Kumar, Senior Veterinarian Dr Arvind Mathur, Senior Veterinarian Dr DD Meena and other forest officials caught the bear and performed the translocation process.

Now, an adult male bear will also be translocated to Sariska Tiger Reserve as soon as possible to ensure the breeding process. These bears will be kept in a soft enclosure till further orders and will be monitored by veterinary officers of Wildlife Research Institute, Dehradun.
