ACB traps discom employee in Churu for taking bribe of Rs 8K

Churu: The ACB on Friday arrested Devendra Singh Rajput, Assistant-First, posted in the office of Office Assistant Engineer, Sub-division Rural, Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Churu, red handed with Rs 8,000 bribe.

ADG Hemant Priyadarshy said that the bureau had received a complaint that the accused was seeking bribe in lieu of issuing non-domestic electricity connection. The complaint was verified under supervision of DIG ACB Jodhpur, Harendra Mahawar and DSP Shabbir Khan and a trap was laid by a team led by inspector Mahendra Kumar. The accused returned Rs 500, on the request of the complainant, and kept the rest Rs 7,500 in his pocket.
