ACB nabs CWC head, members & advocate

Pali: The ACB on Monday caught four people including the child welfare committee chairman, Sitaram Sharma while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 through advocate Sudhir Kankani. The bribe was sought as 10 percent of the compensation amount of Rs 4.25 lakh to the minor rape victim from the government. Besides Sitaram and Sudhir, two members Indu Chopra and Laxman were also caught.

ACB ASP Narpatchand said that the complainant had complained to the bureau that the accused sought bribe on February 15, 2022 but due no money with the complainant, it was decided to pay in installments. The complaint was verified on May 30. After the complaint was found to be true, trap was laid on Monday in the office of CWC, Pali. An envelope containing the bribe amount of Rs 10,000 was recovered from his table.
