4 children of Pak migrant family drown in Jodhpur

Jodhpur: 4 children from Pakistan residing in a refugee settlement died due to drowning in a water filled 50 ft deep stone mine in Kaliberi, Jodhpur on Monday evening. Police said that Ramesh Bhil’s sons Poonamchand (8) and Yuvraj (5) and Govind Bhil’s sons Tikam (12) and Gopal (8) went missing. When they did not return home till Monday evening, family began searching for them. Police and kin were searching for children when someone saw body of a child on top of water filled in a stone mine. Later, with the help of the locals and divers, search operations began and the bodies of three other children were fished out. Later, CM Gehlot also tweeted in condolence. Taking cognizance in matter, SHRC Chairman Justice GK Vyas has issued a notice to Commissioner of Police Jodhpur and Dist Collector Jodhpur, Director Mines and Geology, Udaipur, and sought a factual report by May 17.
