3 more cops removed over alleged collusion with drug smugglers

Barmer: Three more policemen were removed and sent to the police line from Baytu police station over alleged collusion with the drug smugglers. A day earlier a deputy superintendent of police and one constable were suspended with similar charges. In the latest development, the driver of the suspended DSP, one head constable and one constable was removed from the Baytu police station area. Digant Anand, superintendent of police in Barmer, issued the removal order.

However, the order of removal of three policemen reads that all the trio have been removed on the administrative ground. Those removed are head constable Chainaram Poonia, Constable Roop Kishore and driver Dharma Ram.

Jaggu Ram, deputy superintendent of police at Baytu circle in Barmer district, was suspended on Monday late at night after his alleged involvement in a drug smuggling racket came into light.
