279 kg doda worth Rs 10 lakh seized in Barmer: Police

Barmer: Samari police in Barmer on Monday seized a big consignment of banned druglanced poppy husk (LPH), locally known as Doda. Police had seized 279 kilograms doda, the market cost of which claimed to be rupees 10 lakhs, police informed.

Police said that during the routine checking, they tried to stop a vehicle but instead of stopping, the accused tried to escape. Following this, the police team chased the vehicle. Police detained the vehicle driver, identified as Kesharam Jat. During the check, police recovered around 279 kilograms of Doda. Police arrested the accused and booked him under the NDPS act. Police also seized a motorcycle which was used as escorting to avert the police action.
