23 kg gold, Rs 10 lakh robbed in 23 minutes from M’ppuram Fin

Udaipur: 5 bike-borne armed and masked men robbed around 23 kg of gold and Rs 10 lakh cash at gunpoint from at Manappuram Finance company's branch on Sundarwas road in Udaipur on Monday morning, police said. According to plaint filed by bank officials, about 23 kg gold & Rs10L was robbed, Udaipur SP Vikas Sharma said. A video of the incident captured by the bank's CCTV camera shows 2 robbers thrashing bank officials at gunpoint, police said. They entered at 9.20 am and left at 9.43 am. Firm had kept a GPS tracker in box in which gold ornaments were kept but the robbers took out the tracker and threw it there. Gold of 1100 people was deposited in the branch. The five employees present in the office were taken for questioning. The police suspect that someone from the office may be involved in the robbery.
