21-yr-old brain dead Sikar boy gives life to four, donates organs

Sikar: Even after his death, Ashok Saini, 21, a resident of Sikar, gave new life to four people. After Ashok was pronounced brain dead, his relatives decided to donate his organs. Ashok’s last rites were held in Sikar on Thursday in which Sikar District Collector Dr Amit Yadav and Sikar Tehsildar Amilal Meena were present. During this, former BJP District President Mahesh Sharma, Ramesh Jaldhari, District council members Parmanand Saini, Rakesh Saini, Naresh Saini, Bajrang Saini and hundreds of people were present.

On January 11, around 2 o’clock in the afternoon, Saini went to his home from the Krishi Mandi in Sikar when he was hit by a public transport bus near Piprali intersection. He suffered a serious head injury.

Ashok was shifted to Manipal Hospital in Jaipur for treatment. About Rs 8 lakh were spent in his treatment. He also underwent an operation but became brain dead on Thursday morning.

His relatives decided to donate his organs to save other people’s lives. Ashok’s both the kidneys, liver and heart were donated. His heart and a kidney have been sent to Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Hospital. Another kidney and liver have been donated to two patients at Manipal Hospital itself.
