20 peacocks found dead in Luni amid heatwave, villagers outraged

Jodhpur: On Sunday, approximately 20 peacocks were discovered dead near a pond on the outskirts of Rendri village in the Luni area. Most of the birds were found hanging from tree branches, leading to suspicions that they succumbed to the ongoing heatwave and a shortage of drinking water.

Despite the villagers promptly informing the forest department, no officials arrived at the scene, sparking significant outrage among the locals and wildlife enthusiasts. The Luni police, however, did respond to the incident and notified the forest department about the situation.

The villagers and wildlife lovers have expressed frustration and demanded immediate action and intervention from the relevant authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.
