14 children suffer electric shock during Mahashivratri in Kota
Kota: 14 children participating in ‘Shiv Barat’ on the occasion of Mahashivratri here sustained burn injuries on Friday late morning after getting electrocuted. The children, aged 10-16 years, were electrocuted from a high-tension power line passing overhead in the Sakatoura area under the Kunhari police station. Two of the children sustained 100% & 50% burn injuries, respectively, while the rest 12 sustained less than 50% injuries, a senior police official said. All injured were rushed to MBS hospital in Kota.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his sadness over the incident and wished a speedy recovery to the children. He has given directions to provide best of the treatment and has also ordered that there should not be any deficiency in the treatment.
The mishap in Kota’s Sakatpura resulted in serious injuries among children. One child was in critical condition, rushed to SMS hospital’s emergency in Jaipur and got admitted to ICU. Additionally, 5 other children were also brought to Jaipur for medical care.
