13 Raj seats discussed, 10 names finalised

New Delhi: The Congress candidates on 9 to 10 Lok Sabha seats were finalised in the CEC meeting held on Sunday in Delhi. In the meeting held in the presence of Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, discussions on candidates on 13 out 25 Lok Sabha seats were held. It also became clear that veteran Congress leaders will not contest Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Former CM Ashok Gehlot, former deputy CM Sachin Pilot and PCC chief Govind Dotasara will not contest elections. Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot will contest elections from Jalore while Harish Meena is certain to contest from Tonk when Pilot is not contesting.

The party sources said that the names of Karan Singh Uchiarada from Jodhpur, Vaibhav Gehlot from Jalore-Sirohi, Rahul Kaswan from Churu, Brijendra Singh Ola from Jhunjhunu, Pramod Jain Bhaya from Baran-Jhalawar, Govind Meghwal from Bikaner, Sanjana Jatav from Bharatpur, Lalit Yadav from Alwar, Tarachand Meena from Udaipur are almost final. Discussion on the names of Udaylal Anjana from Chittorgarh and Alok Sharma from Bhilwara was also held. Although the names of both were kept pending.

Discussions on Sikar and Sriganganagar seats were put on hold. The party is likely to contest one of both of these seats in alliance with the left. PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra in Sikar wants the alliance.
