VINTAGE VEHICLES vroom on city roads

Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club’s twentythird Vintage and Classic Car Exhibition and Drive are being held on March 12 and 13 at Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur.

The grand show began with an exhibition which was inaugurated by the chief guest Diya Kumari, MP Rajsamand at Jai Mahal Palace on Saturday.

The club is nationally recognised to serve the interests of car connoisseurs from across the country. Most of them will be in attendance to witness one of India’s most successful and oldest vintage and classic car events.

The main objective of this event is to promote tourism of the state of Rajasthan and preserve the rich auto heritage of the country.

The event has come a long way since January 1996 when the first edition was held at Khasa Kothi with just 10 cars.

“Once again this year we are expecting more than 100 vintage and classic cars from Jaipur and other cities of Rajasthan and this year 25 cars from Delhi and Mumbai will be participating in the event.

We are grateful to the government of Rajasthan, department of tourism and Vishvendra Singh, minister of tourism for his continued support and encouragement to carry forward this tradition by organizing one of the best vintage and classic car drives in the country,” Dayanidhi Kasliwal, founder president, Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club said.

Without the cooperation of the tourism department, the club would not have been able to organize the event every year, he added. Avijit Singh, the secretary, thanked the tourism department, Rajasthan and Taj Hotels for the beautiful site of Jai Mahal and Devi Ratna.
