TREASURED INSPIRATIONS

  • When did your love affair with design begin? How would you describe the emotion?

My father was a successful textile consultant and my love for textile was transferred from him. I began my career in 1986 as an intern of the famous brand Yves Saint Laurent in Paris. My main focus is in clothing, although I have been involved in designing accessories and interiors. I am associated with famous international brands like BMW, Armani Junior, Judith Leiber, Swarovski, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Nicole Miller and many more. In 1991 he showcased his very first fashion show. I designed handbags for the international brand, Judith Leiber, in 2009. My handbag collection with Judith Leiber is now being sold across the globe in stores like Harrods in London and Bergdorf Goodman in New York.

  • What do you truly enjoy working with?

Twenty-five years of my sensibilities remain rooted in art. I have found a delicate balance in traditional motifs and contemporary silhouettes. My unusual inspirations range from art and history books to “precious junk” bought at flea markets across the world. Renoir, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, architecture and history have always inspired me and I have always tried to reflect the hues of these treasured inspirations in my creation.
