THE SKY FULL OF STARS @ SAHARA STAR

Most people cringe when they get summoned for jury duty but when it comes to judging a national - level beauty pageant, it is indeed a privilege. As much nerve-wracking and tedious as it gets, the task is equally exciting too. We are proud to announce the jury members of First India Queen, to be held today at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai. Rajendra Jain, Archana Kochhar, Parima l Mehhta, Dr Priti Shenai, Roopmati Manere, Jayanthi Ballal, Poonam Pandey, Anita Hada, Ishika Taneja, Shibani Kashyap, Raayo S. Bakhirta, Nitinn R Miranni, Madhuri Bhosale, Karishma Modi, Akanksha Bhalla and Aditi Jaggi Rastogi. The jury members suggested that the diversity of the panel reflected the industry as a whole. “Most of us grew up in different cities, remote places,” said Parimal Mehhta “But I think that fashion and beauty pageants are a kind of remote oxygen. They show us things that we wouldn’t normally know or understand and speaks to those people even in the lowliest bubbles. It means that young aspirants in the modelling industry can see stuff they wouldn’t otherwise see. Fashion travels and communicates and in this rising times of beauty pageants that’s more important than ever.” This globe-hopping aspiration amid the finalists appears to be borne out by the spectacular jury. Contenders for the coveted crown of First India Queen range from the City of Dreams to the Pink City, the streets of Capital City to the State of Mysore. First India Queen represents the most sophisticated approach to glamour on a huge platform.
