Summer Brides’ Makeup Modes

The wedding season is in full swing with glitz and glamour as its centre of attraction. Since it’s summertime and the makeup trends have taken a 360-degree turn like the weather.

The makeup manners are heavily influenced by celebrity weddings this season, the most talked about being the dewy base makeup bride, Alia Bhatt. This summer season, the makeup trends are primarily revolving around minimal makeup, dewy base makeup, and no-makeup makeup/subtle look.

To ace through the right makeup for D-Day, City First asked proMakeup Artists the trending looks to-be brides can choose from.

Waliya Siddiqui shared some trends to go for and said, “In my opinion, a few trends would be perfect for any bride:

• DEWY SKIN: Highlighter mixed with foundation adds more to the natural glow.
• SUBTLE SMOKEY EYES: subtle smokey eyes with contact lenses enhance the eyes. Eyeshadow shades of brown and dramatic lashes give a regal yet natural look.
• Bold lipstick: One thing that you can never go wrong with on your special day is red lipstick, all though we have seen a lot of celeb brides wearing nude shades, red is a classic for brides.

Viny Verma talked about the makeup difference between day and evening weddings and said, “Day wedding makeup is my all-time favourite one. Skin looks so real in day makeup but there’s a difference between Day and Evening wedding makeup. Evening makeup is done to enhance the features like heavy contouring or cheekbones but for day makeup it’s all to hide imperfections on the skin like spots & dark circles. For evening makeup, we go with dark lips or eyes but in day makeup only soft lips and a subtle base.”

Aanchal Bhatia shared the trends she uses for her summer brides and said, “For our summer brides we prefer our makeup to be neutral and classy. Less layering in the makeup is very good for summers to avoid cracking of the base. “No makeup look” is especially for our summer brides. As a Makeup artist, it is my suggestion to work on skin prep very finely to increase the stay of makeup. Use more toners, face mist and fixing sprays. Given that daylight helps a lot to enhance the makeup for a day wedding, I recommend a soft glam look using neutral and nude shades of pink and peach.”
