A school’s success is largely determined by the effectiveness of its principal. They know that an investment of time is required to develop a shared understanding of what the school should ‘look like’. A principal is the greatest support framework for central office leaders to eliminate inequitable student experiences and outcomes. One such example is set by city’s one of the youngest principals ‘Parul Beel’.

How did you decide to enter into the field of education?

This field always fascinated me, a disciplined life, children around me waiting to learn and explore and if I could be a medium then I couldn’t ask for a bigger blessing. Moreover I came across a lot of parents who doubted the capabilities of their child, and I wanted them to know that children can accomplish anything that they put their minds into.

When did you open your own school and how did it come about?

A decade back in 2012, because I always wanted to be in the field of education. So we purchased this land and constructed the school as per the needs of preprimary and primary students.

What is the best part about being around children for you?

Their inquisitiveness, innocence and their eagerness to learn and explore and a sense of achievement that I get by each passing day of a day well spent in the school. I like to see them growing and becoming self dependent.

Who is your role model in the field of primary education?

Maria Montessori, she’s been a revolution and her teaching methods are being used world wide including our school. The Montessori method of education is named after her. It is a classroom learning that emphasizes independence and choice and a child becomes independent at a very early age.

What is your message to young parents

A child’s 90% of the brain is developed by the age of five. Understand their curiosity and help them channelize their energies in doing something constructive. Spend time with them. Never compare your child with other children.
