PERCOLATED PINK FOR SUMMER

Blame it on two years of gloomy season pandemic dimming our souls or the trend of neutrals picking up the pace that dopamine dressing is back in fashion and how! The warmer days have brought a whole of colours but pink or rather shades of pink have made headlines among fashionistas. From runways like Louis Vuitton championing retina-searing pink or Valentino endorsing hot pink, Periwinkle (Pantone's colour of the season seems to be a thing of the past.

To ace pink this summer, City first asked Fashion Influencers how to incorporate shades of pink into a summer wardrobe.

At the Cannes 2022 Film Festival, one trend that immediately emerged is the colour' hot pink'. Being a minimalist, I would incorporate the colour by pairing a pink top and combining it with other hues such as white. I feel we are about to see full throttle for all pink tones. This season we will also see everyone getting on softer hues of pink, Millennial or Y2K pink, peachy blush, bright pink and salmon tones. —PRIYANKA DUGAR

I think Hot pink is the choice to go with this season. It’s bold, fresh and eye-catching. For outstanding looks, it can pair - with green, royal blue, and orange. I’ve always been a fan of baby pinks as well and that is also a shade that can be opted for if you like a casual and neutral look. —PALLAVI BALANI

Pink is the colour of this season. I especially love it during the warmer months when it can be paired with other summery shades such as white, orange, and pastels. Hot pink matches wonderfully with brown and white. For the summers, it can be combined with light pastel shades such as light yellow, and light green. Pastel floral pink dresses, pink ruffle dresses, and tops are a go-to this season. —UTKARSHA NAIDU

I ’d add hot pink to my wardrobe with comfy fits as in summer we all want to wear something comfortable. For a street style look, go for baggy denim combined with a hot pink bodysuit or baggy light pink denim with a white bodysuit for a soothing yet eye-catching look. Valentino Pink might be the most recognizable shade, but pinks, in general, are seeing a resurgence and it’s so much more interesting than the same-old millennial pink. —JIYA BASANTANI
