‘MY BRIDES LOOK SPECTACULAR’

Tell us something about yourself.

My name is Astha Sharma Mehta and I am from Delhi. I did my schooling at St Martin Diocesan and I am a computer engineer. However, I am following my passion and currently working as a professional makeup artist. I make my brides look spectacular on their day.

What inspired you to become a makeup artist?

Seeing myself dolled up on my wedding day, I realized how important it is for a bride to look the best on her day and how important is the role of a makeup artist in doing so.

This inspired me to become a professional makeup artist. I think that feeling is enigmatic when a bride tells you that this is exactly how she wanted to look when you’re done with the makeup. All the appreciation from my clients inspires me to do better.

What are the challenges that you faced?

You face numerous challenges when you start something new. It is a task to learn the basics, develop signature looks, maintain a profile and be active on social media. However, the most difficult task is to get your first bride. It is special because she selects you based on trust which is a big opportunity.

Where do you see yourself after five years?

I want people to think about me the moment they think about a makeup artist. I wish to spread my wings across the globe.
