Mother's Day beats Father's Day in cakes

While Father’s Day has been a reason to celebrate the Sunday for youngsters who enthusiastically would have planned the day to give their share of love, respect and regards to the fathers, the bakeries, that have specially designed father’s day cakes for the occasion are yet to find the ‘mother’s day’ spirit in the market. One of the employees in Brijwasi bakery which has multiple outlets across Lucknow said, “We are although growing in the number of cakes sold on Father’s Day when compared to the last year, but these numbers are nothing compared to the ones on Mother’s day”. “Mother’s day is a day of sentiments and the sentiments drive the market. Mothers are much more emotional than fathers and bringing a cake for them seems more than enough. Prashant Singh, who lives in Lucknow agrees with the above fact. “ Mothers are not as outgoing as fathers. However, fathers have a completely different taste. Cakes will do, but they play a very small part in the celebrations, as it is a completely different ball game with the fathers”. According to bakers, girls excel boys in ordering a cake for their dads on this day.
