MAGIC OF HER VOICE!

Give some insights about your new released song ‘Tere Hawaale’ from the movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The story behind the recording and her experience working with Pritam on this song?
I started recording this song in 2019 actually and it’s been a very long journey with this song. When I was singing, I felt love is God. So that is where feelings come from in this song. And of course, with Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya. They knew me since I came to Bombay and I am very grateful that I have worked with them and grateful for their friendship. And I think the cherry on the cake was actually when Aamir came and there is the last part of the song which talks about how you observe someone that you love when they are sleeping and then they are not aware that you are looking at them with all that love and affection and concern. I am sure everyone has done that, like looking at their kid sleeping or looking at their parents sleeping or looking at their beloved or even their pet sleeping. It all comes from a very pure place in your heart, and that is what the song is all about.

How did you feel when you heard that you had lent your voice to Kareena Kapoor Khan?
So this is the first time I have sung for her and it’s such a beautiful song and I am really happy to be a part of this. I think the character Rupa will win everybody’s heart.

What skills have you learned from this project that will help you in your singing career?
One thing I believe in and this song has is that your act of praying and loving someone is the same thing, and they are not two different things, and that thing is very lifeteaching for all of us.

Do you wish to set a title as a singer? What kind of singer would you classify yourself as?
The singer who is happy and is connected with her listeners, and I think that’s more than enough.
