INSPIRING JOURNEY OF UPS AND DOWNS
The trailer of Om – The Battle Within was released on June 10 and it indeed has made an impact. The action spy thriller shows the story of Om, a spy who has lost his memories but gains them back after an accident. It further deals with his struggle to prove the innocence of his kidnapped father. Starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sanjana Sanghi, who is debuting on the big screen with this film, the duo can be seen packing some punches and throwing some action in the 2:49 minutes video. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Prachi Shah, Prakash Raj, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. Directed by Kapil Verma the film is produced by Ahmed Khan.
Talking about the battle that he fights within, Aditya Roy Kapoor hilariously stated that getting up early was his battle. “Waking up in the morning for a 7 AM call time is my biggest battle within.” But on a serious note, the actor pointed out the ups and downs of an actor’s life to be his biggest battle within.
He said, “The main thing is to be able to make peace with the ups and downs and the unpredictability. Early on in your career, you are not so well equipped to handle it but as the years go by you realize that everything is transient; you just have to stay on the level even if things don’t go well or go well. You know you have to prove yourself the next Friday and the next Friday. So, it is just about keeping your sense of self-confidence intact, no matter what happens around you.”
On whether he wants to change his image of a romantic hero with this film, the Kalank actor replied, “The idea is to change the image from a romantic hero to an action hero. But I do not want to get stuck with just trying to do one thing. An actor needs to push themselves and keep trying to do other things so they don’t get comfortable in any one genre.”
Talking about the difficulties she faced, Sanjana stated, “To play Kavya, I had to go through a ton of training because she is a girl who can take care of herself and she does not need any man to fight for her. She can fight for herself and others as well. I had to learn hand-to-hand combat and some amount of weapon use because Ahmed sir and Kapil were very sure that Kavya is going to fight as all the men do out there.”
She further added, “On the acting side, I stumbled into Rockstar when Imtiaz found me in my school during a dance performance. But being a Delhi girl, I have spent my life on stage in theatres. Delhi University has a very vibrant theatre culture and I have been working since I was 13 years old, both on stage and in films. So, in the acting part, I am relatively more confident.”
