HAVE ROMANTIC PREFERENCES OF Manushi Chhillar CHANGED FROM PERFECTIONIST KHAN TO KING KHAN?

Manushi Chhillar made the country proud after she won the Miss World title in 2017 and brought home the crown after 17 years. Manushi, who has obtained a medical degree in MBBS has now followed the footsteps of her predecessor, Priyanka Chopra and stepped into acting. She will soon be seen in the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj alongside Akshay Kumar. The beauty titleholder is playing the role of Sanyogita, the third and most beloved wife of king Prithviraj.

Talking about how excited she is about her debut, Manushi replied, “Before the interviews began, I was really excited. But now I am nervous as I realised that there will be an audience that will judge the work that I do. But we could say I am a little bit of both.” She revealed that her first day on set as an actress was completely different from what she thought. “My very first was very heavy. It is a scene where I am arguing with my father in the film. I asked my director why he is making me do such a tough scene on the first day. He said that if you do something tough in the beginning, the rest becomes easier,” the actress said. She further joked about how that was not the case with her though.

While many speculated how she got the role, several had stated her association with Akshay Kumar and their 2018 campaign surrounding menstrual hygiene to be the reason. Addressing the issue, Manushi stated, “I did not make any documentary with him. I had my project when I went to Miss World. Akshay Sir had come out with his film Padman then and he launched a campaign about the topic. He invited everyone involved in projects about menstrual hygiene and I went there. We did not get to interact with each other at all then.”

About her character Princess Sanyogita, Manushi stated, “I tried to understand her journey from a princess to a queen. She is renowned for her beauty as well as bravery. The beauty part was in the hands of the makers, as to how they portrayed me. I solely focused on her resilience as a girl. She voiced her opinion on the groom she wants to marry in the 12th century, an option that even today is scarce for women in India.” Talking about her real-life romance, Manushi jokes, “My romance is with my work. I was in a girls’ school and college and after that, I dedicated three years of my life to Prithviraj. So, my romance has always been with my books and work.”

Manushi had revealed in 2017 that she wanted to work with Aamir Khan. But this time, the former Miss World has another name to swoon over. “I have grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan’s romantic films. I hope he does a romantic film with me. Veer Zaara and Dil Toh Pagal Hai are my favourM ite films,” she revealed.
