FROM AIRCRAFT TO AIRBRUSH

We would like to know about you. My name is Swati Makhija Sharma and I am from Delhi. I am a former aircraft maintenance engineer. Currently, I am working as a freelance makeup artist. I quit my corporate career to pursue my interest which makes me happy. I believe that a makeup artist not only makes the client look attractive but also infuses confidence.

What inspired you to become a makeup artist? I have always been very passionate about makeup since my childhood. I remember I used to get my cousins ready for their events. I would go to their houses to do their makeup and overall styling. My husband discovered this trait of mine and suggested exploring this field further.

What are the challenges that you faced? The cutthroat competition existing in the market is the biggest challenge. It might be tough in the beginning but with continuous efforts everything becomes smooth. High patience and perseverance levels are required to stay focused in this field. go up and down when you begin freelancing, especially if you aren’t able to crack clients for weeks.

Where do you see yourself after five years from now? I wish to see myself as a brand name in the beauty industry. My vision is to start my product line where I can put my research for skin to good use.
