FELL IN LOVE WITH THE ART OF ACTING

Believe in your dreams and they may come true, belief in yourself and they will come true,’ says Raghvika Kohli. She is a believer and a very passion-driven person. She has a positive optimistic approach to things. Meeting new people, travelling, exploring culture, trying different cuisines, reading and dancing are a few things that I enjoy doing apart from acting. Born and brought up in Delhi, completed her post-graduation in Radio and TV Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. She is a trained dancer, having been dancing since the age of five. “I had an artistic inclination throughout and knew that I wanted to have an artistic career only,” she said. When asked how her journey as an actor begin she said that it all started back in school when she used to perform in drama and skits, she enjoyed a lot being on stage and performing. After postgraduation, she joined a theatre group in Delhi itself to learn more about this craft and at that time she got sure about taking acting as a career, a profession.” Being an actor you get to live so many lives and growing up I wanted to be a doctor, be in the army, I wanted to have so many different lives. I wanted to do so much and that’s why I choose acting,” said Raghvika.

Where do you see yourself in the next 20 years?
In the next 20 years, want to see myself happy both physically and emotionally and hope my family would be proud of me. Would have done some projects as an actor that brings a positive change in society. Also making positive contributions to the world in some or the other way.

What were some of the battles you fought and are still fighting in your journey?
The biggest battle I had to fight was mostly to do with myself. Have the courage to take up acting as a full-time career with no resources and knowledge. Especially fact that you don’t have anybody to guide you in this industry, and have no contacts, it gets tougher. Choosing an unconventional profession was the biggest battle that I fought during my initial days. The other battle that I fight is to remain consistent, to be there, facing auditions, and rejections, to hang in there and believe in myself.

Talk to us about your achievements.
I have won a beauty pageant titled ‘Miss India Global International.’ Apart from that I did a web series called NCR Days, I’ve done a few advertisements for different brands and also have worked in a few short films.
